A4 Study: Clinical Trial to Prevent Memory Loss

The recently announced A4 study aims to analyze whether or not the decrease of Amyloid levels in the brain will slow down memory loss associated with Alzheimer’s. Amyloid is a protein that is normally produced in the brain and is known to build up in older people. Researchers believe this increase in Amyloid deposits is a key factor in the eventual development of Alzheimer’s disease.

Sponsored in part by the National Institute on Aging, the study seeks individuals with elevated Amyloid levels yet are not showing signs of Alzheimer’s disease.
